Scéal is the gaelic word for story.

The island of Ireland is a small island situated off the north west coast of Europe and forms part of the British Isles.

The island, believed to be first populated by humans around 33,000 years ago, has a long and troubled history.
This history is presented to the player as a puzzle to be solved as well as a journey to be experienced.
There are brief descriptions of all the events in the game and you are encouraged to read them.

It is hoped the player will  enjoy 'solving' the game while learning a little of Ireland's history and in the process,  shatter some of the common myths about Ireland.

History is not an exact science; historical accounts tend to contain bias as they are typically written from the point
of view of the victors. Every attempt has been made to remove bias as far as possible from the game. Event descriptions are taken from Wikipedia.  Small changes to the text were made in some cases when there was a perceived bias.

The game ends in 1949 with the creation of The Republic Of Ireland. It is felt events after that date are not far
enough in the past to warrant inclusion in the game.
